The challenge

Travis Perkins’ business-critical Rocket UniVerse ERP platform supports everyday branch operations, from point-of-sale transactions to stock movements. The business needed to maintain reliable operations while creating more capacity to modernise the platform.

Recurring support work and delays affecting branch transactions absorbed time that could otherwise support ongoing improvements. The business needed a partner who could combine specialist Rocket UniVerse expertise with its own system and operational knowledge, improving support efficiency while maintaining service continuity.

What Mitra did

Mitra worked with Travis Perkins to stabilise its Rocket UniVerse environment, map enterprise integrations and introduce APIs and automated testing. A dedicated specialist team took on platform support and enhancements, while recorded knowledge-transfer sessions and shared documentation preserved system expertise.

The partnership also addressed recurring issues at their source. Ticket analysis and problem investigation identified ten underlying problem records covering approximately 350 recurring incidents a month.

Mitra also supported ongoing modernisation by removing redundant legacy code and progressing migration to AWS, using AI-assisted code analysis and documentation to help preserve system knowledge.

The outcome

The partnership released an estimated 450 hours a month through improvements to recurring support work, alongside 200 hours from branch asset transfers and 120 hours from point-of-sale transactions each month. Together, this represents approximately £650,000 in estimated annual capacity value, giving teams more time for ongoing operations and modernisation.
