Assistant Accountant

  • Preparation of monthly forecasts including Cash Flows and ensuring adequate funds available for operations
  • Preparation of Annual Budget, monitoring and reporting deviations
  • Preparation of reports for Banks and other Financial Institutions
  • Management and control of Company’s Fixed Assets
  • Ensure accurate and timely Invoicing to customers and subsequent follow-ups of Receivables
  • Supplier and vendor management to optimise profitability
  • Handling company insurance matters
  • Assisting with Global Payroll
  • Management of statutory requirements in relation to Taxes, Provident Funds and Company Secretarial matters with timely submissions and payments
  • Provision of Management Information to relevant stakeholders
  • Foreign Exchange conversion management and maintain relationships with financial Institutions
  • Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Improvement of financial policies and procedures
  • Compliance with Accounting Standards and financial controls
  • Coordinating Audits
  • Any other tasks assigned by Management



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or accounting from a recognised University. (Should be completed)
  • Completed Corporate Level at CA Sri Lanka
  • At Least 4 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting in a reputed Commercial establishment, working in a similar role including UK, AUS based entities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a good command of English
  • Hands on experience in reputed accounting packages (preferably Xero) and Microsoft and reporting tools

General Responsibilities

Flexibility: The post holder may be required to work at any of the Mitra sites in line with service & operational needs. The post holder may be required to undertake such other duties temporarily, or on a continuing basis as may be required commensurate with this role. This may include periods of time working on client premises and / or internationally.

Confidentiality, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Computer Misuse: All staff must ensure confidentiality and security of information dealt with in the course of performing their duties. They must comply with and keep up to date with Mitra policies and legislation on confidentiality, data protection, freedom of information and computer misuse. Any matter of a confidential nature, particularly information relating to customers or other members of staff, must not, under any circumstances, be divulged or passed on
to any unauthorized persons. This duty extends after employment ceases.

Communication: All staff should be able to communicate effectively and in line with Mitra style of communications.
