Senior Business Analyst

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as the conduit between business and development teams
  • Stakeholder management and communication
  • Understand business context by communicating with the clients, referring to materials provided, researching etc.
  • Analyze the requirement and design basic solutions for the functional and business aspects of the requirement based on minimum supervised guidance
  • Elicit basic business requirements and translate them into functional, transition and non-functional requirements using standardized Business
  • Analysis concepts
  • Requirement documentation and management in the form of Epics and
  • User Stories while complementing their detail using wireframes, prototypes etc
  • Formulate roadmap based on gathered information
  • Perform backlog refinement, manage roadmap in discussion with clients.
  • Basic research activities on the market to gain business advantages
  • Presenting and explaining the solution to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the development team in requirement clarification
  • Collaborates with the team on routine issue resolution in planning and monitoring
  • Ensure that the developed features meet the business objectives
  • Active participation in scrum ceremonies
  • Execute the above activities within the Mitra Software Delivery Framework
  • Run discovery and other requirements workshops
  • Mentor Intern and Associate Business Analysts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High level of analytical, writing and communication skills
  • Drive for achieving results
  • Good understanding of concepts analysis approach, stakeholder management and requirement management within an agile environment.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
  • Good understanding of requirement documentation and management
  • Basic negotiation skills
  • Basic skills in stakeholder management
  • Quick learner
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of business management or Information Technology
  • Five or more years of experience in executing Business Analyst activities within the banking domain

General Responsibilities

Flexibility: The post holder may be required to work at any of the Mitra sites in line with service & operational needs. The post holder may be required to undertake such other duties temporarily, or on a continuing basis as may be required commensurate with this role. This may include periods of time working on client premises and / or internationally.

Confidentiality, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Computer Misuse: All staff must ensure confidentiality and security of information dealt with in the course of performing their duties. They must comply with and keep up to date with Mitra policies and legislation on confidentiality, data protection, freedom of information and computer misuse. Any matter of a confidential nature, particularly information relating to customers or other members of staff, must not, under any circumstances, be divulged or passed on
to any unauthorized persons. This duty extends after employment ceases.

Communication: All staff should be able to communicate effectively and in line with Mitra style of communications.
