Mitra Innovation’s celebrated the success of its 5 th year last week by treating all members of staff to a stylish dinner aboard Garton’s Ark, the largest sailing restaurant in Sri Lanka situated on the tranquil waters of the Diyawanna Oya, adjacent to the Urban Wetland Park in Nawala.
Co-founders Ashok Suppiah, Derek Bell and Dammika Ganegama were in attendance to enjoy an extraordinary evening with a happy atmosphere, great food and wine and of course wonderful company.
Mitra has grown significantly since its humble beginnings back in 2011. We now have 4 offices (1 in the United Kingdom and 3 in Sri Lanka), our employee count has grown from under 30 to close to 100 and our customer base has tripled in size. We have not only met our revenue target for the year but also exceeded our stretch target by tripling in terms of revenue, hiring employees’ and expansion. Our ambitious plans for the future include increasing our employee headcount to 200 people and opening another office in the UK (Ipswich) by 2017.
Innovation is a huge part of our story and will continue to be our “secret sauce”. All of the success that we have seen as a company is the result of our group of intelligent, talented, innovative and relentless personalities that continue to drive the business forward by bringing in and applying various value-adding innovative ideas combined with up-to-date operational methodologies for our customers and partners. This has led to major global brands like Philips engaging Mitra to help implement their own innovative ideas. We are all fortunate to be part of such an incredible team. We have worked hard to achieve our goals and will use this passion to continually push forward.
We would like to take this opportunity to not only celebrate and thank our team for their hard work, but to also thank all our clients for including Mitra in their business story over the years. We look forward to more growth and successful cooperation in the future
